The story of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
The usual combination of charm, information and entertainment again provided by Minken Fosheim and her puppet friend Rosenstjert. Lots of snippets from Mozart’s` music with soprano soloist Liv Elise Nordskog and dressed in period costume, conductor, Allan Withington.
It Started with a Scale…..
In this concert ,we traced the development ofthe modern day symphony orchestra, whilst at the same time explaining the build up of different scales and simple harmonies. It was presented by Marianne Persson Franc in a rather strict headmistress role and featured the orchestras` tuba player.
The concert started with a snippet of one of Bach`s cello suites and ended with Young Persons Guide to the Orchestra. The conductor was Andrew Litton.
The Big Wide World
This was an attempt to spotlight the many fine artists
and musicians from ethnic minorities living in and around Bergen. Fantastic African percussion and dance from Abu Adonaba and music and musicians from China, Iran, Australia and India. The concert was rounded of with a great arrangement of a Norwegian folksong where all musicians present, took part.
Music in Transport
Working together with a local sixth form college, Langhaugen, we had great fun depicting, through music and dance, various modes of transport. From Carousel to Chariots of Fire it turned out to be a spectacular event. The conductor was Allan Withington.
